Effect of Herbal Extract on Burning in A Rat Model

Abstract
|

|
Purpose: This study is preclinical pilot experiments to determine if there are potential remedies of herbal
extracts including Angelica, Peony, Bupleurum etc. We want to evaluate the degree of healing over time
as compared natural healing of skin tissue with 2-degree burns on the skin of rats treated herbal extract
several times.
Methods: Four weeks age of rats were divided two groups. Each group was 5 rats. The rats of the
control group were naural healing of 2-degree burns on the skin. And the rats of the treated group were
treated herbal extracts to 2-degree burns of skin. We evaluated of visual observation, tissue change using
immunohistochemistry for 3 days.
Results: After 3 days of treatment, the treated group mended quickly better than natural healing group.
And pathologis change except for central area of burns was slighter than natural healing group.
Conclusion: This conclusion suggested sufficient possibility of healing burns of herbal extract except for
the Histological aspects. Further investigations are needed to clarify the effect of helaing burns of
herbal extract through concrete and long-term research.
